With Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu announcing his non-candidacy earlier this year, two candidates have emerged, looking to take his seat.
Republican Amy Binsfeld and Independent Christian Ellis will be in the Seehafer Broadcasting Studios this Thursday for a debate, which will be aired on 98.9 FM WOMT 100 and 980 WCUB at 1:00 p.m.
Binsfeld began her political career four years ago as she won the 27th Assembly District seat, defeating Chester Gerlach with 64% of the vote.
But only a year later, she was drawn out of the 27th District, and if she were to run in the Assembly, she would have faced longtime representative Paul Tittl for the 25th District seat.
Ellis, meanwhile, served his country in the Marine Corps, and spent 2004 in Iraq.
He decided to throw his hat into the ring because, as he stated on his website, “our state needs practical leadership rooted in real communities; not driven by ideology, but by love for our community.”
WOMT News Anchor Steven Devine will be moderating the debate, which will be posted in it’s entirety at SeehaferPodcasts.com along with the previous 25th Assembly District debate between Tittl and Chris Able.
