It is fall cleanup time at one of Sheboygan’s cemeteries.
The City’s Department of Public Works has announced it has begun seasonal cleanup operations at Wildwood Cemetery and is seeking help from residents.
Lot owners have been asked to remove all summer decorations and artificial flowers by no later than October 15th.
Any items left behind past that date will be disposed of by cemetery staff.
Then, starting on November 15th, new winter decorations or flowers may be placed on grave sites.
On the annual cleanup, the DPW stated, “With over 25,000 graves to maintain, the support of families who observe the cemetery rules is greatly appreciated. We ask that you refrain from putting fall/winter decorations out until November 15th.”
A complete list of rules and regulations for winter decorations and plants can be found online by visiting the Sheboygan Department of Public Works Facebook page.
