
In a game between two winless teams, Manitowoc Lincoln traveled to Green Bay East to take on the Red Devils.
In a thrilling contest, Manitowoc Lincoln was victorious, winning 21-20 in overtime.
The Ships fell behind 6-0 early but would answer back and lead 14-12 at half.
The score would then remain unchanged until there was less than a minute left in regulation.
Pinned deep back in their own territory, Ships punter Kayce Stegmann was tackled in the end zone for a safety, evening the score at 14 apiece.
The Red Devils would get the ball to begin overtime with running back Andy Brawner finding the end zone to take a six-point lead.
But the Lincoln defense would bear down and stuff East on a two-point conversion attempt, meaning a touchdown and an extra point would seal the deal.
Ships QB Kieran Hang would then find receiver Adrien Amweg for a ten-yard score before Stegmann punched the point-after attempt through the uprights to secure Lincoln’s first win of the season.
Lincoln improves to 1-6 on the year and 1-4 in the FRCC with the win.
Next up will be a trip to Sheboygan to take on the North Golden Raiders next week.
