An event for new or soon-to-be expecting parents returns to the Cool City today.
Healthiest Manitowoc County’s annual Community Baby Shower takes place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Two Rivers Community House.
This year’s theme is “A New Chapter Begins” and is open to all expecting parents and families with young children. Health Educator Lexi Otis explained on the WCUB Breakfast Club that couples with a child under three can learn multiple lessons, including how to make sure they sleep safely, how to put their child in a car seat, and when oral hygiene needs to begin.
Otis notes that there will also be some room for fun.
“So, people can come and they can get free family photos,” she explained. “And Two Rivers Fire Department will be there with a fire truck. And we’ll have raffles that you’ll automatically get five tickets for and then you can enter.”
Attendees can also get access to Healthiest Manitowoc County’s community closet, giving parents a chance to get items like blankets, pacifiers, formula, and more.
The Community Baby Shower was first hosted by Healthiest Manitowoc County in 2023, allowing families to see local resources following the COVID-19 pandemic.
