Authors will be converging on Sheboygan County next month for an annual celebration of literature.
Lakeland University will be hosting its annual Great Lakes Writers Festival on campus on November 5th and 6th, offering guests two days’ worth of events.
This year’s featured authors will be June Gervais and Chelsea Whitton, who will both be doing public readings.
Meanwhile, those in attendance will have the chance to participate in master classes, book signings, an open mic, a Q&A session, a poetry walk, a book fair, and a writing contest.
On what to expect, the event’s host, Jodie Mortag, said, “I can tell you that there is no other admission-free event that brings writers together in such an intimate setting that leaves you inspired to write more, read more, and connect with others who wish to entertain, to share knowledge, and to make an emotional bond with their community.”
The festival will be free to attend and open to the public. More information on the 2026 Great Lakes Writers Festival, as well as a full schedule of events, can be found at lakeland.edu.
