Two Rivers’ City Manager is very happy with where the city is financially as it enters the final three months of 2026.
The City Council finalized its latest general fund monthly financial report late last week, which City Manager Kyle Kordell says shows a very positive trend.
In fact, he called it “encouraging” that “Through the first seven months of 2026, general fund revenue was about $6.4 million. This is $445,000 better than at the same point last year.”
On the spending side of the ledger, Kordell reports that the City spent $17,000 less than the same time period last year, despite everything costing more.
“So if you put those two numbers together, that puts us about $462,000 ahead of where we stood at this point last year,” Kordell noted.
A major part of that was the revenue received through development and building activity, including home renovations.
“Building permit revenue reached nearly $220,000 through the end of July this year, which is much better than last year,” Kordell explained, adding that other major contributors were the ambulance revenue and investment earnings.
Kordell shared his excitement, noting, “We are fixing the general fund deficit that we learned about at the beginning of this year, and we are righting the ship over time.”
