It was an all-timer last night at the JFK Fieldhouse as the Manitowoc Lincoln girls volleyball team hosted the Phantoms of West De Pere.
The Ships players were very excited for the matchup ahead of time, and their play on the court reflected the excitement.
The Ships jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a 25-23 victory in the opening game, but the Phantoms bounced back with a win by the same score.
History would repeat itself as the Ships took game three 25-20, but West De Pere stayed alive with a 25-20 win of their own.
The fifth set tiebreaker continued to show the fighting spirit of both sides, but in the end, the Ships fell just short, 16-14.
The loss drops Lincoln’s record to 16-13, and they will try to end a four-match skid tomorrow as they travel to Green Bay Southwest.
