The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s deputy facing misdemeanor charges in Calumet County has entered his plea.
44-year-old Andrew Beck entered pleas of not guilty to misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property and theft of movable property.
Although he didn’t appear in person, Beck was also given a $500 signature bond and is not allowed to have contact with two people in the case.
Beck was placed on administrative duty while the case continues in court.
A statement from Manitowoc County Sheriff Chief Deputy Jason Orth explained that the reassignment is “standard practice, non-disciplinary, and does not reflect any determination of guilt or wrongdoing.”
A criminal complaint alleges that Beck broke an iPhone that his daughter had when she wasn’t supposed to have it.
He’s scheduled to return on October 28th at 10:30 a.m. for a status conference.
