Jeremiah Novak of Novak’s Service Center was on WOMT’s Be My Guest program to explain some tips for vehicle owners who want to make sure their vehicle is ready for those very cold days.
One of the biggest things Novak recommends is getting your batteries checked, because extreme heat and humidity can cause car batteries to have trouble in the winter, not always the extreme cold.
After the battery, it’s important to check your tires, because tread will help everyone get around when the snow comes down.
Novak recommends the penny method. Take a penny and place it between the treads.
If you can’t see Abraham Lincoln’s full head, your tires are still okay. If you can, you’ll need new tires.
It’s also a good idea to rotate your tires every time you use full synthetic oil.
