Two De Pere residents are without a home after an electrical fire yesterday afternoon (September 22nd).
De Pere Fire Rescue and the Fox River Fire District were dispatched to the 300 block of South Erie Street just before 2:00 p.m., where they found smoke coming from the front door of a residence.
The fire crews entered the home and found the fire in the basement.
Some of the firefighters checked the home to make sure everyone was out, while others attacked the flames, quickly bringing them under control.
One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion, but no other injuries were reported.
It is believed an electrical issue caused the fire, which took about 100 gallons of water to extinguish.
The two residents were displaced as the fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damage.
