The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will begin construction on a state highway in Manitowoc, but not until 2035.
The Common Council approved a state-municipal financial agreement to construct Waldo Blvd from Fleetwood Drive to Interstate 43.
This announcement comes three days shy of six years after the reconstruction of the east side of Waldo Boulevard was completed.
That project took over a year to finish.
Improvements would include milling existing pavement, patching the concrete base, and spot curb and gutter repairs.
Other areas in the Waldo Blvd site will also be analyzed and improved as needed, according to the agreement.
The agreement does not say when the roadwork will start.
The state oversees the project since that portion of Fleetwood Drive is part of Highway 10.
It will cost a little more than $5.7 million.
