The community is invited to donate blood in the City of Sheboygan this week.
The Sheboygan Fire Department will be hosting a community blood drive on Thursday (September 24th), running from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fire Station 3, in partnership with Versiti.
During the blood drive, there will be two different donation options: whole blood or double red cell.
Whole blood donations are quick and versatile, being able to help multiple patients.
Meanwhile, double red cell donations support local trauma care and surgeries but will take longer to complete.
On the blood drive, the fire department also stated, “Every donor helps move us closer to ensuring patients have the blood they need when every second counts…Your donation makes a life‑changing impact right here in our community.”
SFD will be accepting walk-in donors on Thursday, however, those looking to schedule an appointment can do so online by visiting donateblood.versiti.org.
Those unable to donate will again have the opportunity at the next SFD blood drive on November 19th.
