A judge has made his ruling on witness testimony for the man charged in the death of Elijah Vue.
Judge Anthony Lambrecht denied a motion for 41-year-old Jesse Vang, allowing Sand and Gravel Expert Jodi Webb to testify at his April trial if called by the prosecutors.
Vang’s Attorney, Jeff Jansen, claimed Webb couldn’t give a definitive answer to questions about sand and gravel collected around the 41-year-old’s apartment.
Vang is scheduled to return to court in March for a pre-trial conference before his jury trial begins on April 14th.
Vang faces charges including physical abuse of a child causing death, hiding a corpse, resisting or obstructing an officer, and chronic neglect of a child.
He and 33-year-old Katrina Baur are accused of neglecting Elijah and trying to “make him a man” by punishing him for his behavior.
Vue was reported missing in February 2024 before his remains were found in the Town of Two Rivers in September that same year.
