Eighteen schools converged on Sheboygan Town & Country Golf Course yesterday for the Sheboygan Invitational Girls Golf Tournament, including two Manitowoc County schools.
Kiel ended the day with a 382, which was good for 6th place among all teams, while Manitowoc Lincoln’s 485 left them in second-to-last.
Kaukauna took home the team title with a 330 team score, followed by Seymour’s 347, and Green Bay Preble’s 349.
The hosts, Sheboygan North, finished in 7th, one stroke behind Kiel.
The Hornet’s Emma Cunningham had a phenomenal round, outpacing the rest of the field with a 69, 10 strokes better than runner-up Emily Thoreson of Kaukauna, whose teammate Sawyer Olson shot an 80 to tie for third.
The host Golden Raiders’ top golfer was Taylor Quackenbush, whose 88 earned her a tie for 11th place, while the Ships Briella Reeves and Kiel’s Callaway Goodman each shot a 92, good for a tie for 22nd place.
Manitowoc Lincoln is next set to compete on Monday at Oneida Golf Club, while the Raiders will be a part of a five-school field at Quit Qui Oc Golf Club tomorrow.
