Bridge inspections are planned for this month in Two Rivers.
In the city’s latest Cool City Connect, staff says the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will inspect all four bridges that carry residents over the East and West Twin Rivers.
The DOT also informed the city that it will audit the city’s inspection reports to “ensure compliance with new bridge inspection requirements.”
WisDOT is also developing additional training for bridge operators focused on interim maintenance practices that can help extend the bridge’s useful life.
Planning also continues for a future city bridge painting project.
It would have happened in 2026, but Two Rivers officials say it’s been delayed because of the costs associated with the new bridge inspection requirements.
Bridge painting is now tentatively scheduled for next year.
