Safe Harbor of Sheboygan County will be raising awareness of domestic violence this week.
The nonprofit will be hosting its first-ever Community Story Tree workshop at Maywood Park on Thursday (September 17th) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Those in attendance will create a piece of a collaborative mural “inspired by the changing seasons, the natural world, and our shared hopes for a future free from domestic violence.”
When describing what patrons can expect, Safe Harbor explained, “Through art and reflection, we’ll explore themes of community, hope, resilience, healing, and connection. No artistic experience is needed—just come as you are and add your voice to something bigger.”
Those unable to make it to this week’s workshop will have the chance to do so when a second Community Story Tree event is held on October 17th.
Once completed, the mosaic tree will be installed at the Safe Harbor headquarters in Sheboygan in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
