The family of 23-year-old Printis Smith is questioning the circumstances surrounding his deadly shooting by Milwaukee police last Tuesday.
Police say Smith had a gun and exchanged gunfire with an officer after a vehicle chase led to a foot pursuit near 37th Street and Meinecke Avenue.
Smith’s family, after viewing body camera footage, disputes that account and told WISN the video raises questions about whether he posed a threat.
Police Chief Jeffrey Norman said that on the night of the shooting, it appeared Smith fired his weapon.
