The Brillion, Valders, Chilton girls swim team kicked off their season last week in positive fashion.
The tri-op was in New Holstein on September 10th, where they brought home the gold as a team.
Senior Norianna Burton says she couldn’t be happier with how they started the season.
“We’re stronger this year, which is great,” she told SeehaferNews.com. “We’re all getting along.”
Norianna competes in the 100 butterfly, 100 breaststroke, 200 medley relay, and 200 free relay, and is happy with how she started the season.
“I didn’t PR, but I hit really close to my PR’s from last year, which is really nice for starting out,” she explained.
Their next meet will be on September 17th in Chilton.
Meanwhile, the Manitowoc Lincoln girls swim team was in Ashwaubenon over the weekend for the 45th Annual Jaguar Invitational.
As a team, the Ships finished 12th out of 14 teams, with Bay Port taking home the gold with 517 points.
They were followed by Oregon with 231 and the De Pere Co-op with 217.5.
The best performer on the night for the Ships was Siri Stachovak, who finished 3rd in the 100 backstroke.
Coach Aaron Stachovak noted, “With 19 out of 20 season-best times throughout the meet and strong performances from swimmers across the lineup, Lincoln continues to build momentum as the season progresses.”
They will be back in action tomorrow at the Mulva Family Fitness and Sports Center in De Pere.
