The Appleton Police Department is reminding residents of the dangers of impaired driving.
The Department shared two photos of a crash last weekend on social media, where a car slammed into a pole, knocking it to the ground while destroying the front end of the car.
No one was injured in the crash, but the Department noted, “It’s another reminder that impaired driving can have serious, permanent consequences… You don’t have to feel drunk to be too impaired to drive. Even a small amount of alcohol can affect your judgment, reaction time, and ability to safely operate a vehicle.”
As they and other departments are just ending their recent Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaigns, Appleton Police are still reminding residents, “If you’ve been drinking, do not drive. Designate a sober driver, call a friend, use a rideshare service, or find another safe way home. Whatever your plan is, make it before you start drinking.”
