The City of Two Rivers is taking the next steps towards the redevelopment of the former Hamilton Property.
City staff announced that the shared vision developed through their 2026 public engagement process will be presented to the city council at their next meeting on September 21st.
During the meeting, the council will also consider formal action on a resolution of blight for the property, which the city calls an important procedural step as they work toward acquiring and redeveloping the property in 2027.
Thermo Fisher, which currently owns the 14-acre site, is also conducting final groundwater sampling.
An independent appraisal is also in the works for the Cool City. It is expected to be done in October before moving forward on details of a potential real estate transfer.
Two Rivers staff finish by saying that what began with listening and community conversations is moving into the next phase, turning a shared vision into a path forward for one of the community’s most significant redevelopment opportunities.
