Manitowoc Lincoln’s football team returned home to Ron Rubick Field to take on the Menasha Blue Jays.
In this one-sided FRCC contest, the Blue Jays would take down the Ships 35-7.
Menasha would receive the opening kick and march down the field before punching in their first of four rushing touchdowns of the ballgame.
Despite the crooked scoreline, Manitowoc Lincoln put in their best performance of the season on the offensive side thanks to the return of running back Jaquan Foth and some time in the pocket for quarterback Kieran Hang.
However, the rushing attack of Menasha proved to be too much, as running back Keonte Thigpen accounted for each of the team’s rushing scores.
This game also marked a milestone for the Ships, who were able to finally find the end zone for the first time this season when Hang found senior receiver Adrien Amweg on a slant route for a two-yard score.
The loss drops Lincoln to 0-4 on the year and 0-2 in conference.
It will be a short week for the Ships as they will next be in action on Thursday (September 17th) for a road game against Sheboygan South.
