The City of Sheboygan is gearing up for the return of a yearly tradition on the riverfront.
Sheboygan’s Common Council recently approved a resolution to establish a temporary Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) for Riverfest 2026, which is set for September 19th.
The DORA will be in place for the entirety of Riverfest, which runs from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
As the name suggests, Riverfest will take place along Riverfront Drive in Sheboygan, featuring numerous local vendors, food trucks, live music, and a wide variety of drink options.
The DORA, or the area where patrons will be able to carry open intoxicants purchased at Riverfest, will run along the Riverfront Boardwalk from Salon Sase south to the area surrounding 819 Riverfront Drive.
However, the City also adds that this “is limited to the alcohol service area, sidewalks/boardwalks, and other portions of the right-of-way not open to vehicular traffic, including crosswalks or other pedestrian crossing areas.”
