A Menomonie man who police say fatally stabbed his mother in Eau Claire is pleading not guilty due to mental disease or defect.
Investigators say 27-year-old Michael Hurlburt stabbed his mother, 56-year-old Lisa Bragg-Hurlburt, with a kitchen knife at Half Moon Lake Apartments near Carson Park on the night of May 22nd.
The victim was found dead at the scene.
Hurlburt is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and entered his plea on Thursday.
