Runners from the Sheboygan area will honor those lost on 9/11 this weekend.
The 6th Annual Tunnel to Towers Sheboygan 5K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday (September 12th), beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Town of Sheboygan Fire Department.
Festivities will be kicked off with an opening ceremony speech from Jacole Hall, the wife of Dominic Hall, an Appleton police officer and Marine Corps and Green Beret veteran who passed away in 2022.
During the ceremony, a local first responder will be honored with the Stephen Siller Award, which recognizes someone for their bravery, selflessness, and dedication to others, just as FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller did on 9/11.
For those still looking to sign up to participate in the 5K, registration remains open at a discounted price until the day of the event, when costs go up for same-day registrants.
Currently, sign-ups cost $15 for children 12 and under, $25 for those ages 13 to 17, and $40 for adults, while service members and first responders can register for $35 at any time.
