The EWC has released its first girls’ tennis standings list of the year, and three teams have had a strong showing to start the season.
St. Mary Catholic and Sheboygan Falls are tied for the top spot as they each sit at 2-0. St. Mary Catholic has only lost two flights so far, each of them to the Roncalli/Two Rivers Co-op, which sits 4th at 1-1 in conference play.
The Falcons, meanwhile, have had much tougher battles in their two wins, first knocking off Howards Grove/Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah 5-2, and then edging out the 3rd place Kohler Blue Bombers 4-3.
Kohler is at 2-1 in conference play. Lourdes Academy is in 5th place at 1-2, Howards Grove/Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah is sixth at 0-1, and Kiel has yet to win even one flight against a conference opponent and has a 0-3 EWC record.
The Raiders will have a chance to fix that tomorrow (September 8th), when they are on the road for Howards Grove/Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah.
