As measles continues to spread in southern Wisconsin, the Department of Health Services is reminding parents to get their child vaccinated.
The latest data show Wisconsin measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) kindergarten vaccination rates have increased slightly from 84.8% during the 2024-2025 school year to 85.1% in 2025-2026.
While this is a positive step, that rate remains well below the 95% level that is generally needed to prevent measles from spreading in a community.
State Health Officer Paula Tran noted that “Checking your child’s vaccination record now gives you time to talk with a health care provider, ask questions, and schedule any vaccines they may need.”
