A building needs to come down before new apartments can go up in Two Rivers.
City Manager Kyle Kordell explained on WOMT’s Be My Guest program Wednesday that the former Hansen the Florist building at 3000 Forest Avenue is expected to come down within the next 10 days, before the construction of two three-story, 26-unit apartment buildings will be put up.
This comes after the Two Rivers city council approved construction back in May.
Kordell explained, “We’ve been working with a developer that has a lot of shovels in the ground elsewhere and things take time.”
A resident saw red flags in the ground at the former florist property, which prompted a question for Kordell.
This would be the first major apartment project the city has done in almost 20 years.
