There is just one meeting today (September 3rd) in the City of Sheboygan.
The City’s Police and Fire Commissioners will hold a special meeting inside the third-floor conference room at City Hall at 5:00 p.m.
All three items on their agenda revolved around the ongoing legal dispute with a Sheboygan police officer who has had internal charges filed against him by Chief of Police Kurt Zempel.
The agenda states, “The Police and Fire Commission shall exercise its discretion to provide an opportunity for the accused Police Officer to address the Board regarding those charges.”
Currently, the Commissioners are tasked with determining whether the accused officer “shall remain on duty or be suspended with pay pending hearing.”
The group will then enter a closed session on the matter before reopening the meeting to the public for possible action.
At this time, no information has been provided on what the officer has been accused of doing.
This will also serve as the final meeting of the week in the City of Sheboygan.
