A person has died after an officer-involved shooting in Green Bay.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation says they are investigating the death that happened on Friday, August 21st.
Green Bay Police were called to the 1700 block of Boland Road for a welfare check.
When law enforcement arrived at the residence, 27-year-old Hunter Posey brandished a firearm, leading to three GBPD officers discharging their firearms. Posey was struck, and EMS was contacted by officers on scene.
She was transported to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead. Officers Noah Heuvelmans, Colton Moore, and Grace Bessey were not injured during the incident.
The DOJ says the investigation into the shooting will continue with help from a DCI Crime Response Specialist and Wisconsin State Patrol.
The officers involved are fully cooperating with DCI during the investigation as they continue to review evidence and determine the facts of the incident.
They will be turned over to the Brown County District Attorney’s Office when the investigation concludes, with the DA determining whether the officers will be charged.
