An area hospital group is trying to build literacy skills among its patients.
Read Out and Read is a part of Emplify Health by Bellin, which provides all patients with a book to take home after their visit to build literacy skills and encourage family bonding.
Reach Out and Read partners with care providers across the nation to give more children access to literature.
Emplify Health by Bellin serves over 10,700 families per year, and gifting these families with books has made a significant impact on children’s literacy skills.
They are now working towards partnering all pediatric clinics with Read Out and Read, and once this goal is complete, over 25,000 families will feel the benefits.
