Some students are already back in class while others are getting on the bus for the first time on Monday, and Comcast is showing its support for all local students.
The company recently issued a $10,000 grant to KAN Cool for School, a Manitowoc-based nonprofit dedicated to helping students start the school year prepared and confident with supplies and resources.
The funds will support the organization’s efforts to assist children and families across Manitowoc County by providing gift certificates to buy their own school supplies and backpacks, as well as providing supplies directly to schools for use throughout the year.
Jeff Dvorachek, a board member of KAN Cool for School, said of the donation, “This gift is really going to help kids in Manitowoc County who don’t necessarily have access to the latest and greatest school supplies.”
KAN Cool for School has helped as many as 1,300 children in the past, including nearly 800 this year, highlighting the continued need across the community.
