A woman who lost her job after a traffic stop is planning to sue the Milwaukee Police Department.
Amber Newell was heading to her healthcare job earlier this month when she was pulled over by Brookfield Police due to an outdated Flock technology alert connecting her car to a homicide.
Her attorney told the Journal Sentinel she was held at gunpoint and later fired when her employer learned of the homicide connection.
Newell was not connected to any murder, and her attorney blamed “human error” by Milwaukee police.
The department admitted to not removing the flagged vehicle from its system, and Newell now plans to file a notice of claim.
