Last season's winners, the Iowa Hawkeyes, in front of the Joe Moore Award
A local company has teamed up to honor college football athletes at a national level.
Johnsonville Sausage, out of Sheboygan Falls, has become an official partner of the Joe Moore Award, which honors the top offensive line unit across all of division one college football.
The Joe Moore Award is unique as it is the only award across the college football landscape that highlights collective achievement rather than that of an individual player.
The award was created in 2015 by College Football Hall of Famer, Notre Dame All-American, and a starter on the Green Bay Packers’ Super Bowl 31-winning team, Aaron Taylor, who was coached by the award’s namesake.
On the new partnership, Taylor noted, “Whether it’s five players working together as a unit to move someone against their will or five friends standing around the grill swapping stories, it’s a shared experience that defines our community. Johnsonville shares our appreciation for teamwork, camaraderie, and bringing people together, making this partnership a natural fit.”
Past Joe Moore Award winners include offensive lines from Alabama, Michigan, LSU, and Notre Dame.
