The mayor of New Berlin is responding to criticism of controversial posts on his private Facebook page.
The Wisconsin Muslim Journal recently noted concerns by Muslim community members over posts on Dave Ament’s page, described as “discriminatory conduct” and being “anti-Muslim.”
In a statement, Mayor Ament said his personal Facebook page doesn’t represent New Berlin’s official position, and he never meant to “disparage or offend any individual or group.”
He added his only intention was to “share information on matters of public concern.”
