
An 80-year-old Manitowoc woman is recovering after she was hit by a car over the weekend.
The Manitowoc Police Department was called to the intersection of Waldo Boulevard and North 14th Street at around 5:00 Saturday evening on a report of an accident with an injury.
It was learned that the 80-year-old woman was crossing the road in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle being operated by a 61-year-old woman.
The pedestrian was found lying unconscious on the roadway and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where she was last word is said to be in stable condition.
The driver was cooperative with law enforcement, but it is not clear if she is facing any charges.
The Manitowoc Police Department is reminding motorists that drivers must yield the right-of-way and stop or slow down to safely allow a pedestrian to cross the roadway in any marked or unmarked crosswalk at an intersection.
