Despite a change in attorneys, the trial for Elijah Vue’s mother is set to go on as scheduled.
33-year-old Katrina Baur was in court yesterday for a status conference, where Abigail Ruckdashel was introduced as her new legal counsel.
NBC26 reports that Ruckdashel told the court that they have received all of the evidence in the case and believes she and her client will be ready for the trial that is scheduled to begin on April 14th, 2027.
Baur was arrested along with her boyfriend Jesse Vang after her 3-year-old son’s remains were found in a wooded area of the Town of Two Rivers.
Vang had been watching over Elijah for Katrina, and, according to police reports, he punished him numerous times while trying to “make him a man.”
Elijah was reported missing the morning of February 20th, 2024, and his remains were found on September 7th, 2024.
Baur’s trial is scheduled to last 13 days, while Vang is slated for the same time.
He is due back in court on September 18th for an oral ruling, while Baur’s next court date isn’t until March 19th, which is her pre-trial conference.
