The Wisconsin DNR is looking for volunteers to help teach hunters of all experience levels practical hunting skills.
The three classes open for volunteers include Outdoor Skills and Learn to Hunt. Outdoor Skills teaches specific skills related to hunting and the outdoors, such as shooting basics, deer processing, dog training, and cooking wild game.
The Learn to Hunt Program allows volunteers to host educational mentored hunts outside of the normal hunting season.
The DNR is also asking landowners to host educational hunts, as their programs rely on partnerships with private landowners.
All volunteer instructors must pass a background check through the DNR or one of its partner organizations.
Those who want more information can contact the DNR Hunting & Shooting Sports Program Specialist, Emily Lehl, at Emily.lehl@wisconsin.gov.
