A crash in De Pere has claimed the life of a construction worker.
The Wisconsin State Patrol was called to the area of I-41 southbound near Scheuring Road just after 11:30 Monday evening on a report of a crash.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 53-year-old Menasha man was driving a semi along the highway when he struck a forklift being operated in a construction zone.
The 26-year-old Chilton man operating the lift sustained fatal injuries while the semi driver was uninjured.
Their names have not been released, nor have any details regarding any charges being filed.
The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Hobart Lawrence Police Department, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Ashwaubenon Public Safety, De Pere Police Department, Wrightstown Fire Department, Town of Lawrence Fire Department, and De Pere Fire Department.
