The Universities of Wisconsin is pushing for a freeze on tuition for the next two years.
System leaders announced yesterday a proposal that would keep tuition the same for the next two years, so long as the state invests $190 million in support of the freeze and other operating needs.
Then, there would be only increases based on inflation for the two years after that.
UW President Renee Weatherly told reporters students and families would see “four years of predictable tuition” and keep the system among the leaders of tuition affordability in the Midwest.
