The Wisconsin State Patrol is calling for school bus safety as students prepare to head back to class.
State troopers say there were 655 crashes involving school buses across the Badger State last year, an increase from the year before.
On top of that, there were more than 13-hundred traffic convictions for drivers who failed to stop for a school bus.
A state patrol official told WMTV-15 many drivers are thinking about where they need to go, instead of where they are, like a school zone.
The Madison Metropolitan School District will begin classes at the beginning of September.
