Time is running out for residents affected by the April storms to apply for FEMA assistance.
Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) reminded those still interested that the deadline to apply is the last day of August, including those in Manitowoc, Brown, and Winnebago Counties.
The Village of Mishicot was affected due to high water on the East Twin River.
To be considered for FEMA funds, residents need to complete an application if an assessment team visited your home in May or if you called 211 to report damage after flooding.
Applications can be found at DisasterAssistance.gov.
WEM also recommends checking your home’s furnace and heating system to see if severe storms impacted them.
Anyone who doesn’t agree with the amount of money given by FEMA can appeal the decision by submitting an appeal letter and documents supporting the claim.
Details on that issue can be found at fema.gov.
