If you see a heavy police presence at Dunkin Donuts this morning, don’t be alarmed.
That’s just the local police raising money for a special cause.
Law enforcement agencies all over the state, including in Manitowoc and Sheboygan, are teaming up with Dunkin to raise money for Special Olympics Wisconsin through its annual Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser today (August 14th) from 6:00 a.m. to noon.
Police officers and sheriff’s deputies will be standing on top of their local Dunkin’ to help raise awareness and to encourage people to donate to the organization, which helps people with special needs showcase their athletic talents.
Since its inception, Cop on a Rooftop has collected over $715,000 for Special Olympics Wisconsin.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging everyone to “Come say hello, grab some coffee and donuts, and help us support our Special Olympics athletes!”
There are Dunkin locations at 2832 South Business Drive in Sheboygan and 3506 Calumet Avenue in Manitowoc.
