La Crosse Common Council is approving an 18-month moratorium on the development of data centers in the city.
Such centers have generated concerns regarding things like energy demands, economic and health impacts, and safety.
La Crosse County approved a similar moratorium in June, as have many other municipalities around the state.
This includes Manitowoc County, Mishicot, and, most recently, Wrightstown.
