One half of the Shoreland League Championship has been set.
For the third year in a row, the Casco A’s punched their ticket to the championship series, thanks to a 10-0 win over the Ashwaubenon Lookouts.
In front of a home crowd, Kordell Draves got the scoring started with an RBI single in the 1st inning, and the A’s never looked back.
Patrick Daniels, Trevor Reinhardt, and Kyle Routhieaux would each hit balls out of the park in the win, and Owen Deprez struck out 8 batters while allowing just 3 hits.
Their opponent has not yet been determined, as the Kewaunee Chiefs beat the Denmark Devilbears 10-5 to stay alive.
Cale Beckman had a great outing on the mound, striking out 9 batters for the Chiefs, while Reese Berg led the way at the plate with a 4-RBI performance.
Game 3 between the Chiefs and Devilbears will be held tonight, again at Memorial Park in Kewaunee, and the winner will take on the A’s next week for the league title.
