The 2026 Wisconsin Primary Election is in the books, and the Manitowoc County votes have been tabulated.
Of the 64,300 eligible voters in Manitowoc County, just shy of 16,000 cast a ballot, which equates to 25% voter turnout.
Locally, the race for the Democratic nominee in the gubernatorial race wasn’t quite as close as the overall race, with nearly 3,500 voters casting ballots for David Crowley and just over 2,600 voting for Francesca Hong.
Crowley did win the vote statewide as well, albeit by only 3,000-ish votes.
However, the Republican Lieutenant Governor’s race was quite close. Just over 3,700 Manitowoc County voters wanted David Varnam and 3,100 voted for Will Martin.
The overall race was not that close, with Varnam winning the nomination by over 45,000 votes.
Despite being from Manitowoc County, Brayden Myers only received just shy of 1,300 votes in his home county, 300 fewer than eventual runner-up Nate Powllnow and nearly 2,000 fewer than winner Jay Schroeder.
In the Democratic 6th Congressional District race, Brad Smith fared well locally, receiving nearly 4,000 of his 34,400 votes in Manitowoc County.
The full 2026 Gubernatorial Election will take place on November 3rd.
