A local organization is getting some major help supplying those in need with fresh protein.
Hunt Fish Feed was made possible through the partnership between Comcast, the Sportsman Channel, and Grow it Forward.
These three organizations came together to provide the citizens of Manitowoc with a nutritious meal that all attendees enjoyed.
Amber Daugs, the CEO and Founder of Grow it Forward, tells us she is extremely grateful for this partnership and the opportunity Grow it Forward now has to increase the amount of meat and fish that they can serve to those in need.
Amber was also able to share with those in attendance that Grow it Forward has received a $10,000 donation from Comcast, which they will use to provide over 30,000 meals to the citizens of Manitowoc.
“I feel that food is that thing that connects us all,” she told SeehaferNews.com. “We can agree on a lot of things and disagree on others, but when we have food at the table there’s enough food for everyone.”
Jeffery Brown from the Sportsman Channel explained that the main goal of the Sportsman Channel is to promote the advantages of hunting, since the food brought in is low-fat, high-protein, and renewable.
The Sportsman Channel does tons of events like this in their mission to provide as many communities as possible with nourishing meals.
“There’s a lot of people out there right now that are in need,” Brown said bluntly. “It’s nice to be able to come in, provide a service for these guests, and they know people care. Organizations like Grow it Forward are so important in these communities.”
Patrick Stumpf with Comcast says that the telecommunication company loves working with organizations like Grow it Forward to build on the amazing opportunities that communities already have.
He was also excited to announce that Comcast is expanding into Manitowoc to give more people access to high-speed internet.
Patrick says that in the future, Comcast will continue to be committed to the city of Manitowoc and creating meaningful partnerships that will provide for this community.
“Working with two great organizations really provides an opportunity for the community to come together, share a meal, and really just that camaraderie that builds great communities,” he added.
Grow it Forward, The Sportsman Channel, and Comcast are all extremely happy to be partnering to make events like Hunt Fish Feed happen.
They look forward to their continued partnerships and to all the opportunities that are open to them in this community.
