A man who used to work for Senator Andre Jacque is now one vote away from taking over his seat in the state Senate.
Nic Cravillion earned 9,264 votes in the partisan primary yesterday, besting his next closest challenger, Barbra Bittner, by over 3,500 votes to earn the Republican nomination.
The other race affecting local voters specifically was for the Democratic nomination to face 6th District Congressman Glenn Grothman.
As of this morning, that race was too close to call, but Brad Smith holds the lead over Amanda Bell by just under 500 votes.
Elsewhere on the ballot, David Crowley earned the Democratic nomination for the governor’s race and will face Republican Tom Tiffany.
