Cleaning rags are behind the damaging fire at a Milwaukee school earlier this summer.
Milwaukee’s fire chief explained yesterday that rags soaked in cleaning substances spontaneously combusted on June 30th at Lincoln Avenue Elementary School.
The fire ended up destroying large sections of the building, which started in a second-floor hallway.
The 109-year-old school was declared a total loss, and Milwaukee Public Schools is looking for a contractor to demolish the building.
