Public safety agencies in Sheboygan will be conducting training exercises at a local school this week.
The Sheboygan Area School District explains that the Sheboygan Police and Fire Departments will be performing Critical Incident Training at Horace Mann Middle School on Wednesday (August 12th) from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
While the exercise is being done, Horace Mann and the surrounding campus, including the soccer fields and parking lots, will be closed to the public.
The Mercyhealth Trauma Preparedness Team will lead the group during the training, drawing on its extensive experience in healthcare, public safety, and multi-agency response.
Regarding this training, SASD noted, “Residents may notice an increased presence of police officers, firefighters, emergency vehicles, ambulances, and other first responders in the area throughout the day…The activity is a planned training exercise designed to enhance public safety.”
On Wednesday, community members are asked to avoid the immediate area surrounding Horace Mann Middle School to ensure the training is conducted safely and effectively.
