The Manitowoc Police Department is investigating a death after a body was found in the Manitowoc River.
Officers were dispatched to the shore of the river near S. 16th Street yesterday at 5:30 p.m.
Using resources from Manitowoc Fire Rescue, the body of a deceased man was recovered.
At this time, preliminary investigation suggests that there is no evidence of foul play and no threat to the community.
The Manitowoc County Coroner’s Office will carry out an autopsy, and the investigation is still ongoing.
